What to expect

Remedial Massage

Pre Consultation and Treatment

An initial consultation (10-15 minutes) consists of completing history taking and consent forms followed by relevant observational, passive and active physical assessment. A plan of approach towards achievement of desired outcomes will then be discussed.

You'll undress to you comfort level. Underwear is to be left on. Bras can be removed or unclipped dependent on client preference. Massage therapists are trained in professional draping techniques and provide adequate privacy for undressing and redressing.

Treatment may consist of soft compression and gliding warm up strokes followed by deep tissue and trigger point therapy, assisted stretching and joint mobilisation techniques. Therapist communicates with client where necessary to ensure comfort is maintained. Client feedback regarding pressure or discomfort throughout treatment is encouraged. Outside of this, quiet is recommended to enhance benefits of the treatment.

Soft lighting and relaxing music assist in creating a calming atmosphere.

A brief post treatment assessment may be carried out to assess efficacy of treatment and discuss any follow up appointments and recommendations.

Consecutive appointment consultations are kept brief to maximize treatment time.

Post Treatment

Re-hydrate afterwards to assist you body to clear any metabolic waste that has been moved during treatment.

You may feel relaxed or sleepy afterwards. If possible, avoid intense physical activity and allow yourself some downtime.

Some mild muscle tenderness may be expected post treatment.
